The coat of arms of Bijeljina, designed by the Serbian Heraldic Society, is "Azure, a bell tower argent with two doves flying in cantons towards it, base argent a Tau cross gules. Crowned with a mural crown with facade or. Compartment vert bearing a white ribbon with the town's name in Cyrillic, and maize and wheat or. Supporters: dexter an old man in national costume with a gusle, holding a banner of Serbia / Republika Srpska, sinister a merchant in rich cloth with a purse holding the banner of Bijeljina. Both banners have golden doves as the finial.
The bell tower is said to be the tower on the town hall. The Tau cross probably represents the confluence of Drina into Sava (Semberia region). The old man holds a string instrument typical for Serb folklore. The merchant is wearing the cloth of rich dignitaries of the beginning of the 18th century.
