Presentation of Drnje

The municipality of Drnje is located north-east of Koprivnica towards the Hungarian border and river Drava. It has around 2,200 inhabitants.

Flag of Drnje

The symbols of Drnje are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Drnje, adopted on 19 September 2000 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 27 April 2001 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 4.

The symbols, designed by Antonio Grgić, were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 30 March 2001, as reported by D. Ernečić [erc03].

The Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Drnje, adopted on 21 September 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 28 September 2001 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 10, include a description of the symbols.
The Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Drnje, adopted on 17 January 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 26 January 2006 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 1, repeat a description of the symbols.
So do the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Drnje, adopted on 6 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 15 July 2009 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 9.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Vert a thorny branch issuant from base with three roses argent and in the chief of the last a wooden boat proper".
The coat of arms includes thorns as canting elements (Croatian, trnje, locally, drnje).

Ceremonial flag of Drnje

The ceremonial flag, not mentioned in the Decision, is a blue vertical banner, fringed yellow, with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality above and four corn ears below, ending with a triangular fly.
