Presentation of Krašić

The municipality of Krašić is located some 50 km southwest of Zagreb. Population is 3,200 inhabtants in 33 settlements, some 700 in the main village of the same name.
Since the Middle Ages a Noble Community, Krašić is known populary as the "Valley of Cardinals"; namely, two of the most important Croatian cardinals were born there (Alojzije Stepinac, Cardinal in 1952, beatified in 1998, and Franjo Kuharić, Cardinal in 1983).

The coat of arms of Krašić is "Azure from a hill vert a tree issuant and on it sitting a dove argent".
This coat of arms appears on the seals of the Noble Community of Krašići since 1676, and was also painted in the Zagreb Town Hall around 1880 (photo), The modern design is largely based on the rendition by Lašovski [lsv39].

The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka. It is shown on the poster Likovna rješenja službenih grbova odobrena od Ministarstva uprave a na temelju pozitivne ocjene od Povjerenstva za odobrenje grba i zastave (Heraldic Art, Rijeka, 2006).
