About the Flag of Osasco

The municipal flag and coat of arms of Osasco can be seen at
Dov Gutterman, 15 December 2000

This is a ~3:4 vertical triband of green, white and red, with a narriow horizontal white strip throughout, thus forming a sort of white cross and dividing the field into four squares--green in the upper hoist and lower hoist, red in the upper fly and lower fly. In the center, the town arms: vert a flying torch or lit gules and winged argent between two rail cross-sections argent in chief and two cogwheels or in base. Two black sledgehammers palewise as supporters, and on a green scroll the motto Osasco cidade trabalho (meaning "Osasco, city [of] labor") in golden capitals. The original flag image at the site has a greyish shade of green, both on the coat of arms and on the hoist stripe, but the detailed coat of arms image shows normal green. I used this one to make the image.
António Martins, 12 March 2001

From this site, law no. 874 of 17 October 1969, instituting the coat of arms and flag of the municipality:

Art 4. - There is hereby instituted the flag of the municipality of Osasco, in compliance with Municipal Law no. 643 of 16 July 1667 [sic, read 1967].
