[College Derocher] by Ivan Sache

In spring 2002, the administration of the College Durocher in Saint-Lambert (Quebec, Canada) opened a flag contest to the students in Arts and Public Relations of the 5th Secondary grade. On 20 June 2002, the jury selected as winner a flag presented by Guillaume Mathieu. The flag has the blue and white colours of the flag of Quebec.

Guillaume Mathieu explained his flag as following:

"The college has five grades, represented by five geometrical shapes which point to the center of the flag, where the college is represented by its logo. The colour blue expresses creativity and communication between the students. The five white stripes represent the way each student has to accomplish in each of the five grades. The circle in the center means protection by the college which provides growth of the heart and mind and protect the student during his five-year cursus."

The flag was hoisted during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Pavillon Durocher, one of the two buildings constituting the college.
