The municipality of Pernink lies in the valley of the river Bílá Bystřice in the forests of the western Ore Mountains at 840 m. above sealevel. It was founded 19 Nov 1532, when the former mountaincommune was raised to town-status, and it received city-rights in 1559. Silver mining is reflected in the city-arms by the bear, who according to legend found silver-stones here. The name of the bear is also preserved in the name: Pernink is in German: Bärringen. The escutcheon in base is the Coat of Arms of Nejdek town. At present Pernink has 725 inhabitants.
