Description

According to the Manual del Estado Español (Handbook of the Spanish State, Spanish text only) by Editorial Lama:

Pascal Vagnat, 16 Jul 1999

The flag of Saragossa province, or rather the flag of its Diputación Provincial or provincial government is hoisted both at the Diputación's main building in Plaza de España and one or two more buildings in Saragossa. It is simply white with a red cross, with no coat-of-arms. The arms of the cross appear to be as wide as a fifth of the hoist.

Unidentified or Mistaken Variant

[Saragossa Province, Unidentified or Mistaken Variant (Aragon, Spain)]

Jaume Ollé shows it with the coat-of-arms over all.

António Martins, 16 Jul 1999

Moreover, Jaume Ollé's image of the coat-of-arms is mistaken, since the first two quarters have been swapped.

Real Maestranza de Caballería

A leaflet of the "Real Maestranza de Caballería" which I picked up at the tourist information office showed its flag, dark red with on the centre the coat-of-arms, "Azure a cross formy fitchy at the base Argent," thus similar to the second quarter of the Aragonese arms.

In that leaflet, the flags are shown hanging from the balconies of the Maestranza (or Miguel Donlope) Palace, which can be seen in this online photo (without the flags).
