Polembros operates a fleet of c. 35 vessels.
In October 2003, a tanker operated by Polembros sank off Karachi and caused a huge oil spill. The oil spill occurred in a rich tropical marine ecosystem, home to extensive mangrove forests, Green and Olive Ridley sea turtles, dolphins, porpoises, beaked whales and several species of lizards and sea snakes.
In March 2004, the Aframax tanker Everton, operated by Polembros under the Maltese flag, was ablaze in the Arabian Sea following a collision with a fishing vessel.

According to Brown's Flags and Funnels of Shipping Companies of the World (1995) [lgr95], the house flag of Polembros is horizontally divided yellow-blue-yellow (c. 1:3:1) with a white disk charged with a red limping Greek letter Π.

Managing four bulk carriers, one oil tanker and two chemical tankers (combined, 170,000 DWT), the company is the shipping branch of the Safe Ship Investment Co. (website), incorporated in Luxembourg on 18 April 2007.
Josef Nuesse's flag collection (no longer available online) shows the house flag of Remi Maritime Corporation as blue with a red Greek letter Π outlined in white.
