Overview

Vrsar is a community in the Istrian County, half way between Rovinj and Porec. The ancient town has it own histoorical coat of arms showing an apple tree held by two bears. The Italian name of teh town is Orsera - thus the bears are probably canting. It seems that recently this was adopted formally in a modernized form, since such is used on a road sign in Vrsar, as Tomislav `ipek photographed it.   The coat of arms is oval shield argent an apple tree proper held by two bears proper rampant on a mount vert.   The mentioned road sign had the background dark blue, and this may be indicative that the flag may also be dark blue with the coat of arms in the middle, but this would have to be confirmed yet.
