Zmijavci is a community in the Split-Dalmatia County, som 8 km south of the city of Imotski, some 50 km inlands from the coast, and about 100 km southeast from Split. About 2,100 inhabitants in the single settlement of the same name. Historically the name was since 1948 Zmijavci Podbabski, until 1921 being considered a "suburb" of the village Runovic, in the period often counted as single village of Zmijevci Runovicki, since 1993 forming a single community of Zmijava-Runovic' or Zmijavci-Runovic'. The community split in 1997 into two: Zmijavci and Rundovic'.
On <> there are photos of stone carved Coat of Arms of the community and also photos showing the Coat of Arms and the ceremonial flag (but too small to provide for decent image). Also there is a drawing of "ceremonial Coat of Arms" (i.e. probably the same emblem as flag - with inscription above and ornament below): dove stantant argent.
The coat of arms of Zmijavci is: azure a and in chief sinister a Latin cross of the same. The flag appears to be light blue with the coat of arms in the middle (although this should yet be confirmed). There is also a ceremonial flag as a light blue gonfalon with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the community in two arches above and vine ornaments below (further details like the fly end shape - unknown)

From the poster "Likovna rjeaenja slu~benih grbova odobrena od Ministarstva uprave a na temelju pozitivne ocjene od Povjerenstva za odobrenje grba i zastave", poster, 4 str, Heraldic art d.o.o. Rijeka (2006) I prepared the drawings now. The design was made by the Heraldic Art company and approved by the Central State Office for Administration, sometime around 2002 I guess.
According to the community web site <>, it seems that the design of the coat of arms is a copy of a "1500 years old" relief. That would set it in the 6th century, a bit too old for herladry, but it does not mean that the dove and the cross are not carved in some older stone monument.
