During the time of war in Croatia and imidiately afterwads, say well until 1997, on the headquarters of the Civil Defence it was not ususual to see the Civil Defence flag hoisted - orange flag with blue triangle. No special signs on the flag were there to show that this is specifically Croatian service. Vertical version was also recorded, having the triangle rotated to point upwards.
