On 1 January, 1992, a part of the town, Mánfa, left Komló and became an independent village again.

Komló town, Baranya Co. - "The most important elements of the Coat of Arms of the town are the red star and the hammers relate to the socialist mining town. The seven arched forms relate to the town built on the hills. The illustration of the hop relates to the name of the town (Komló = Hop)."
