Description

Local Council Atlit, situated on the seashore, south of Haifa, west of Highway 2, was founded in 1903 and has 6,000 inh. Near the Local Council you can find Pilgrims Castle - a Crusaders' Fort - and the remains of the British detention camp for illegal immigrants, today a museum.
The Local Council is uses a variety of colours. I noted white, orange, yellow, light blue and blue, but more colours could be used. I suggested Local Council officials to use only one colour and was answered that there are already many flags on stock. I was given a real one, blue emblem on white. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), YP 2006, 5 May 1974.
