About the flag

It is a quite typical portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centered on a background quarterly (meaning town rank) of yellow and purple. The coat of arms is argent, a lion purple, armed azure, bordure sable charged with four vine grapes or, alterning with four grenates or fruited gules. Mural crown argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DA CHAMUSCA" (sometimes, also "CÂMARA MUNICIPAL DA CHAMUSCA"). Arms, flag and seal aproved by gov. decree (portaria) nº 7819, in 1934.05.10, publ. in official journal Diário do Governo108, Ist series.
