Municipal flag of Ajdovščina

The flag might have been adopted around 1980. It is white with the emblem of the municipality.
The emblem contains three waves in three different shades of green, topped with a part of embattled walls. The waves were also reported as dark yellow over green over blue. The emblem represents the "cold river" Hubelj flowing under the remains of the Roman fortification. The seven-towered Roman fort called Castrum ad Fluvium Frigidum (i.e. Castle at the Cold River) is still present in the center of the town.
