Presentation of the municipality

The municipality of Loski Potok was founded in the year 1995 by decision of the Slovene Parliament. It consists of two local communities of Loski Potok and Draga. Before 1995, Loski Potok was a part of the municipality of Ribnica and the Draga valley was a part of the municipality of Kocevje.
The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hrib, lying under a picturesque parish church called Tabor. In Hrib there is the seat of the commune as well as a health center, the school, a nursery-school, a bank, a post-office, a few shops and quite a few inns.

Description of the flag

The flag and coat of arms are prescribed in the municipal statutes Statut Obcine Loski Potok, adopted on 20 April 1995, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 32/95. Next municipal statutes Statut Obcine Loski Potok, adopted on 26 February 1999, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 37/99, did not change anything concerning the municipal symbols. The current statutes Statut Obcine Loski Potok, adopted on 10 November 2000, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 117/2000, only mentions that the municipality has these symbols, but it leaves details for a further decision that seems not to have been adopted yet.

Coat of arms

[Coat of arms of Loski Potok]by Zeljko Heimer

The coat of arms is a semicircular shield, divided in sky blue and green by the skyline of the place (I guess) in upper part of the shield. In green field there is a log proper into which is set a woodcutter's axe with a silver blade and a leather boot. In base, in arch following the shield shape is inscription Loski Potok in fracture ("German") letters.
