The settlement was a part of the Nyitra (in Slovakian Nitra) county of the Kingdom of Hungary before 1918/1920 (Czechoslovakian occupation/Treaty of Trianon). 1939-1944 and from 1993 part of Slovakia.First mention is from 1113.
