Description of the flag

Havre de Grace is located in northeastern Maryland in Harford County at the confluence of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay. It is a small historically rich city beautifully situated on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Havre de Grace is truly unique, in that it has maintained its small town feel and charm while being so closely located and accessible to the major cultural and business centers of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Incorporated as a Town in 1785 and almost voted the Capital of the United States by the US Congress. The City is rich with history and tradition and known far and wide for being a thriving commercial port; having excellent fishing and waterfowl hunting; decoy carving; and previously having a horse racing track, to mention a few.

The flag does show some effective use of the elements of a city seal, but not in a seal format. At least it's better than many municipal flags, although it does have some the city motto present. I'm attaching the seal which can be used for comparison with how it is used on the flag (and potentially for use by someone to draw the image).
